Zofia Śliwińska, the Junior Recruiter at Directio, defines her role as the invisible guiding hand, seamlessly connecting booming businesses with talented IT specialists. Her own talent lies in the ability to facilitate the journey of candidates from application to contract. “I see myself as a compass for aspiring professionals, helping them navigate towards their dream projects” she explains, emphasizing her contribution to the candidates’ smooth sailing through the recruitment process.
Zofia’s journey into IT recruitment was not an obvious one. She started as an internal HR employee for a large corporation. “Back then, I probably would have had trouble even imagining myself as someone confidently hunting for talent in such a competitive and technical field” she admits. “But when I discovered Directio and had the opportunity to meet Angelo Pressello, our CEO, I thought to myself that this could lead to something truly special.” Although it was the unique organizational culture that peaked Zofia’s interest in pursuing a career at Directio, she quickly became an ardent student of the art of IT headhunting. All thanks to Tomasz Banach, the Recruitment Coordinator. “Tomasz personally recruited me to his team and this experience was my first lesson in how things are done at this company. He showed me the ropes and demonstrated Direcpl’s recruitment style by leading through example” Zofia recalls.
When Zofia joined the recruitment team at Directio, she was welcomed by Patrycja Fabińska, Senior HR & Recruitment Specialist, and Adrian Michalski, HR & Recruitment Specialist. Under Tomasz Banach’s leadership, the team enjoys an environment that balances freedom, responsibility, and collaborative support. Asked about this approach, Zofia responds: “Here, we have the independence to achieve our objectives in our own way. There’s no micromanagement. We’re not burdened with meaningless tasks just for the sake of keeping tabs on us. We are trusted to take ownership of our work. This autonomy empowers us to explore innovative approaches. And you know what? It produces outstanding results!”
Zofia’s philosophy as a recruiter is all about connecting talented IT professionals with great opportunities. She believes in establishing meaningful relationships with candidates, mirroring the collaborative and supportive dynamics she experiences with her team members. Zofia sees herself as a guiding presence: “I’m here to help candidates find their way” she explains. “Just as my colleagues have guided and supported me, I want to provide the same level of assistance and guidance to our candidates.”
Zofia takes pride in her role as a facilitator, assisting candidates through the recruitment process and ensuring their experience is seamless. “When I discover a promising talent, my goal is to provide them with the comfort and support they need to focus on showcasing their skills and abilities” she affirms. “I want them to perform at their best during every stage of the recruitment journey.” Empathy lies at the core of Zofia’s approach. “To be a good recruiter, you must put yourself in the candidate’s shoes.” she states. Drawing from her own experiences, she emphasizes the importance of clear and transparent communication from the very beginning. “Honesty is crucial. Candidates should know what to expect and have a clear understanding of the process. It’s about not wasting anyone’s time and ensuring that both parties can make informed decisions.”
Zofia believes in the power of feedback as a catalyst for growth, emphasizing its importance in helping candidates understand their successes and areas for improvement. “I strive to create an environment where candidates can unleash their full potential and confidently sail towards their goals” she explains. “Seeing them succeed and witnessing the positive impact they make on our client’s projects is truly rewarding.”
